Professional Fire Hose Installations
Fire hose reels are designed to give building occupants a means of tackling a fire in its early stages before the arrival of the Fire & Rescue Service. Fed from the building’s mains water supply, each reel provides a continuous and controllable jet of water through a length of semi rigid tubing, allowing a person to advance towards a fire while maintaining a sustained water flow. In high rise residential and commercial buildings, hose reels are typically installed in protected lobbies, stairwells and corridors at regular intervals to ensure that no part of a floor is beyond the reach of the tubing. The system must be designed so that adequate water pressure and flow is available at the most remote reel, even during periods of peak demand elsewhere in the building. DRFSC sizes, positions and installs hose reel systems in full accordance with BS 9990, ensuring the design is properly validated before work begins.

DRFSC installs systems using quality assured components and ensures that all reels are correctly pressurised, free running and capable of being fully deployed without obstruction. Our installation teams pay close attention to bracket positioning, tubing routing and cabinet design to ensure reels can be accessed and operated quickly and without difficulty, even by someone with no prior training. We provide full commissioning documentation on completion and are experienced in working within occupied buildings where disruption to residents and businesses must be kept to an absolute minimum throughout the installation process.
